Shipwreck Cove, Golden Bay
Arghhh, me Hearties! If there’s one playground that captures the imagination, it’s Shipwreck Cove. This maritime-themed wonderland combines adventure with easy beach access, making it a must-visit day-destination for families. The park cleverly divides into different zones to cater to various age groups. There’s a separate fenced toddler area with age-appropriate equipment, an exciting pump track for little bike enthusiasts, an underwater-themed flat bike and scooter circuit, and the main attraction – a massive pirate ship with tall tube slides.

The Harbour Playground, Secret Harbour
Affectionally known as “Octopus Park”, the big, bright colours of the ocean-themed Harbour Playground resemble an underwater coral wonderland. Kiddos who love Finding Nemo will be stoked to see the giant octopus centrepiece and climbing structure. The fully fenced and gated play area includes seaweed climbing ropes that hang from top to bottom of the sea cave, a whirlpool net to climb, plus inclusive equipment including a flying fox suitable for all abilities, wheelchair-accessible roundabout, and wheelchair-friendly sand play tables.

Fantasy Park, Waikiki
Step into a world of imagination at Fantasy Park, another accessible playground in Rockingham! This pretty playground brings fairy tales to life with its unique touches. It’s a magical destination that features a friendly dragon and other animal sculptures to seek out. Highlights include a castle-themed play structure, where you’ll find traditional style play equipment, slides, swings for different ages, large grassed areas for kicking a ball, and shaded picnic areas.

There is no shortage of amazing playgrounds in the suburb of Baldivis! Brightwood Adventure Park sure lives up to its name with vibrant yellow and orange play equipment. Kids will love to clamber over the adventurous 13m climbing structure, ride the huge slides, race friends on a double flying fox, swing as high as they can, explore the nature play and more. There’s even a dedicated toddler play zone with smaller-scale equipment for your minis.

Steamrail Adventure Park, Baldivis
All aboard for family fun at the Steam Train Adventure Playground! This spot celebrates the area’s train and timber milling heritage with a huge “water stop” tower, with 12m slide, has climbing nets and ladders, as well as an impressive view. A gorgeous, climbable steam train engine will let little train lovers’ imaginations run wild. Other fun features include a double flying fox, musical play and a big grassed area perfect for family footy games.

Monsters World Adventure Park, Baldivis
Ready for some monster-sized fun? Also known as Rivergums Adventure Park, the monster-inspired nature-based playground is the perfect place to let your child’s imagination run wild! Follow the huge monster feet to the “monsters’ nest” climbing tower with a 6-metre-high slide that will have the kiddos screaming with happiness and a challenging rope bridge. Kids will be roaring with excitement at this playground. Highlights include monster-themed play structures, musical play elements, nature play areas, a nest swing, sand play zone, shaded areas, and walking paths.

Churchill & Bell Park, Rockingham
You’ll find Churchill Park at the Rockingham Foreshore where there’s a classic playground, partially shaded by mature trees, all found within easy walking distance of cafes and the beach. It’s a lovely spot to throw down a blanket and chill, while the kids burn off energy on the traditional style play equipment. There’s plenty of features to keep kids entertained, with slides, climbing walls, monkey bars, a fireman’s pole and more.
The popular Pirate Ship playground is further to the north, at the end of Bell Park, and is worth a visit too. Are you ready to walk the plank? This pirate-themed playground offers the perfect combination of shady play and beach views. It’s a fantastic spot to include in your foreshore walk or beach day plans! Highlights include a pirate ship play structure, climbing nets, swings, and beautiful ocean views. Close to cafés and restaurants, a play on the Pirate Ship is perfect for combining with a dip at the beach and a coffee.
