We’re more than half way through the year and school holidays are finally here. It’s a tough gig thinking of things to do and places to go to keep kiddies and teens entertained for two whole weeks. I’m hoping I can help you all out here by suggesting a few local places where fun is guaranteed. Choose a place for each day, or really tire them out by hitting all three in one day. All places mentioned are indoors, so no need to let the winter weather get in the way of a good time.

Rebound Arena

Our very own trampoline playground located at Unit 6/2 Blackburn Drive, Port Kennedy. This place is a fun mecca for children and adults alike and also a really great workout! The buzz and excitement can be felt as soon as the door is opened. Make your way upstairs to check in and get your funky grip socks, the café and viewing platform are upstairs, toilets and lockers are located downstairs (lockers cost an additional $2). Rebound Arena has a platform lift at the entry for disabled access to the upstairs area, and ramps to access all parts of the arena from the ground floor. Parking is easy with plenty of parking available out the front.

The options for gravity defying fun are endless. Hit up the airbag jump, see how high you can go before landing on a cloud like airbag. If you like ball sports, why not try trampoline basketball or practice ducking and weaving while playing trampoline dodgeball. For the ex-gymnasts and trampoline experts, there’s the performance trampolines to play around and demonstrate some freestyle skills or try some stunts on the long tumble track tramp. Test your climbing skills on the inflatable wall or simply free bounce between multiple interconnected trampolines! For those too young to jump (under 3’s), there’s a separate play area with a range of toys to entertain young children. 

The whole area is well padded for safety and there’s staff members on the ground floor supervising. Rebound also have a range of party rooms making it a great choice to host a kid’s birthday party.

Lazer Blaze Port Kennedy

Next up is Lazer Blaze, an indoor laser tag arena, also conveniently located in Port Kennedy just around the corner from Rebound Arena. Each player wears an electronic vest (different colours to identify teams) and is given a phaser gun. The arena is dark, but it’s easy enough to see with glow in the dark paint marking corners and walls. The walls are strategically placed for hiding behind to avoid getting zapped by your opponent. There’s also some funky wall art around. The aim of the game to seek out your opponent to zap them while trying to avoid getting zapped yourself. Each game is 20 minutes long, most people typically book 2 games, just don’t forget your joggers or sneakers if you’re booking a game!

Lazer Blaze is for anyone aged 7 and over, and can be played in teams or individually – With allocated time slots for league players, kids only, all ages and super sessions on weekend evenings for more competitive players.

i-Play Rockingham

Arcade game central! Located on Syren Street in Rockingham, i-Play is a hive of activity with catchy video game tunes, lights and colours to capture attention from the minute you walk in.

The newly renovated space offers a variety of games from racing games, claw machines, Jurassic park, air hockey, basketball or wheel of fortune.
