Shoalwater

Shoalwater is a peaceful seaside suburb of Rockingham. The name ‘Shoalwater’ was used by the original settlers on the basis of the shallow waters in the area. Here, you’ll find the ticketing centre and jetty for Perth Wildlife Encounters in Shoalwater, where you can take a ferry or cruise to Penguin and Seal Islands. These islands are set within Shoalwater Islands Marine Park and are a must-see. For those who’d rather take the adventurous route, you can also kayak or paddle board here, while pristine Islands, reefs and shipwrecks make for excellent diving, snorkelling and wildlife watching. Marine life including bottlenose dolphins, little penguins, Australian sea lions and a number of fish species call these waters home.
